Dr. Mason Oakes, owner and founder of Faircrest Veterinary Care

DR. MASON OAKES

Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Mason established Faircrest Veterinary Care in 2022, out of a strong desire to create a veterinary practice that provides compassionate and comprehensive care for the pets and pet owners in our community.

After graduating from Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, Dr. Mason continued his studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2013.

He then completed an intensive one-year internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas in Raleigh, NC, working closely with specialists in Emergency, Oncology, Surgery, and Internal Medicine.

Since returning to Madison, Dr. Mason has worked in emergency medicine and general practice for the past 8 years. A Madison native, Dr. Mason lives on the west side with his wife and two young kids, three cats, two goldfish, and one snail. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, playing music, and following the Milwaukee Brewers.

Certified Veterinary Technician

Alana joined the Faircrest team in September, 2023. She graduated from MATC in 2019 with an Associate Degree of Applied Science and became a CVT. Growing up, Alana always knew she wanted to work with animals; whether it be working in an animal clinic, animal shelter, doggy daycare, or personal pet sitting, you could always find her with a cat or dog by her side! Outside of the clinic, Alana enjoys going on stroller adventures with her two kitties, hiking with her Bernedoodle around the Madison area, playing piano, photography, reading, and strength training.

alex p.

Veterinary Assistant

Alex joined the Faircrest team in May, 2023. He recently completed his second year of veterinary school at University of Wisconsin-Madison and is interested in pursuing small animal medicine after graduating, but is also considering specializing in behavioral medicine or oncology. Alex has experience working with all types of animals but likes working with dogs, cats and rabbits the most. In his free time, Alex likes to go on hikes, bake, and read science fiction novels.

lili c.

Receptionist

Lili joined the Faircrest Team in July, 2024. She recently moved back to the Madison area after living in Austin, Texas for 3 years. Veterinary medicine has had her heart since 2017, when she joined the team at a non-profit animal care clinic. Since then, she’s gained experience in both small animal practice and urgent care. She’s passionate about connecting with people and their pets and practicing compassionate, empathetic care. In her free time, she enjoys cooking with her wife, snuggling her cat, reading, and spending time in nature.
